Field Notes on Building a Learning Loop

Learning only compounds when capture, processing, and output are connected. Here's the loop we rely on.

  1. Capture. Everything begins as a quick highlight in Readwise or a voice note in Notion mobile.
  2. Process. Twice a week we review the inbox, summarise the core idea, and assign a potential action or experiment.
  3. Publish. A single doc houses the distilled playbooks. We link to related automations or decks so the insight is easy to find in context.

Rituals that help

  • Set a timer to stop over-polishing notes; insight beats aesthetics.
  • Tag entries with the problem they solve rather than the content source.
  • Review old entries monthly to archive ideas that no longer fit the strategy.

When the loop runs, your reading habit turns into a backlog of real experiments instead of trivia.
